About TOEFL .

The TOEFL test measures all four academic skills — reading, listening, speaking and writing — the way they’re used in the classroom. The exam has 100% academic material with integrated assignments, and the language utilised closely mirrors English usage in regular academic settings. There are two types of TOEFL exams.

The main version of TOEFL is offered in two variants: Internet-based (iBT ) and Paper-based (PBT). These exams test your English academically, while the TOEFL Essential tests your everyday English. TOEFL essential is much shorter than TOEFL iBT.The paper-based version is largely discontinued and is available only in a few locations

Your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are meticulously evaluated by TOEFL using a combination of certified human evaluators and artificial intelligence. Depending on how proficient you are in each section, you receive a score between 0 and 30. Based on the individual scores, you also receive an overall score ranging from 0 to 120

WHY TOEFL .

Universities typically use the results of the TOEFL exam in the admissions process. Those who take the TOEFL usually intend to go overseas for college or graduate education. However, the TOEFL is available to anyone who needs to prove their proficiency in English for academic purposes. But people can also take the TOEFL for other purposes.

  • Students going into high school in an English speaking nation.
  • Students in an English-speaking nation enrolled in two-year community college programmes
  • Individuals seeking a license or certification in a certain industry Individuals needing to prove they are fluent in English for immigration-related issues
  • Those who only wish to evaluate their proficiency in the English language in a formal context.
Some educational institutions will not need you to take the TOEFL exam if you:
  • Placed in a specific percentile on the ACT or SAT's English, reading, and writing sections
  • Completed a TOEFL exam within the previous two years
  • A diploma or degree from a nation where English is the primary language
