In the 1960s, Canterbury Christ Church University was started as a place where teachers could learn. In particular, the first people to worship at Christ Church did so on the first Sunday of Advent in 1962. In 1995, it was given the power to give degrees based on what was taught in the classroom. In 1995, this school changed its name to Canterbury Christ Church University College. In 2005, the Privy Council said that Canterbury Christ Church University was a real university. In 2022, the university will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee. This will mark 60 years of teaching, research, and service that have made people’s lives better.

The Silver Award for Excellence in UK Higher Education was given to Canterbury Christ Church University because of how well it teaches. In the QS World University Rankings 2022, Canterbury Christ Church University is between 101 and 200. In the 2022 Times Higher Education World University Rankings, it is ranked between 1101 and 1200. The Guardian ranks CCCU Canterbury as the 119th best university in the UK, and the Complete University Guide 2022 ranks it as the 118th best.

The campuses for Canterbury Christ Church are both in Canterbury and in other places. The Daphne Oram Creative Arts Building, the Verena Holmes Building, and a state-of-the-art Sports Laboratory are all part of Canterbury’s facilities. In the Verena Holmes building, students learn about science, technology, health, medicine, and engineering. It’s part of the exciting £150 million plan for the university’s downtown campus to grow. Health and education students will find that the Medway campus is a great place to learn. The school has a second location in nearby Royal Turn bridge Wells. During the school year, the Student Union at Canterbury Christ Church University hosts many different activities and events. You can join more than a hundred different student groups. There is a sports center for the university right next to the Canterbury campus. A double sports hall, an indoor climbing wall, a modern gym, and an interactive spin studio are all part of the Sports Centre.

International students can take courses at either the undergraduate or graduate level at Canterbury Christ Church University. There are more than two hundred undergraduate courses, including accounting, biomedical science, business management, chemical engineering, computer science, and many more. Canterbury Christ Church University has a lot to offer when it comes to graduate school.

The annual report for the 2019-20 school year says that Canterbury Christ Church University had 14,952 students. About 72% of the people worked full time and 28% worked part time. There are people from more than 80 different countries among the undergraduate and graduate students at the university. All first-year undergraduate and graduate students at Canterbury Christ Church University will have a place to live on campus. There aren’t a lot of scholarship options for international students at Canterbury Christ Church University, but there are some. Students can also get help with money through the Sports Scholarship, the International Student Scholarship, and the Choral Scholarship.

Canterbury Christ Church has a large and active group of people who went to school there. Famous people who went to the university include children’s book author Geraldine McCaughrean, award-winning documentary director Kate Blewitt, award-winning radio host and comedian Jon Holmes, and others like Phil Gallagher (TV Presenter).
