What is now Throop University started out as a technical school in 1891. Today, Caltech is known all over the world for its groundbreaking research in engineering and the natural sciences. This school has been approved by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. It has connections with the American Association of University Professors, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and NASA (JPL).

On the Caltech campus, you can find the Beckman Institute, Kavli Nanoscience Institute, Rosen Bioengineering Center, Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience, and Resnick Sustainability Institute. The building that is the tallest on campus is the Millikan Library. The institute has locations not only in Pasadena, but also in Louisiana, Hawaii, Switzerland, and Washington. On the 124 acres that make up Caltech’s campus, there are seven different buildings that students and their families live in. Basketball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, swimming, and fencing teams for both men and women are just some of the sports offered at the university.

At Caltech’s graduate, undergraduate, and doctoral degree levels, math, chemistry, biology, computer science, physics, and earth science are just some of the subjects that are taught. The academic organization of the university is made up of six divisions: physics, mathematics, and astronomy; chemistry and chemical engineering; humanities and social sciences; biology and biological engineering; geological and planetary sciences; engineering; and applied science. Caltech currently has more than 1,285 graduate students and about 948 undergraduate students enrolled in programs. About 3,900 faculty and staff work at Caltech. This includes both people who got their degrees there and people who did not. The teachers at this school know a lot about science and technology and have worked in those fields for a long time.

There are a lot of successful people who went to Caltech and went on to make names for themselves in their fields. There have been more than 24,000 graduates, and 38 Nobel Prize winners are among them. H. Hagan Harrison In the same year, Jack Schmitt got his degree from Caltech. He is a well-known geologist and NASA astronaut. Linus Carl Pauling, who is a well-known biochemist and author, got his degree from this school. Other important people on the list include former Libyan Vice Prime Minister Mustafa A.G. Abushagur, astronaut and Air Force colonel Charles Gordon Fullerton, DARPA’s first female director Regina Dugan, India’s former Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Virmani, DARPA’s 20th director Arati Prabhakar, pH meter inventor Gordon Earle Moore, and Intel co-founder and American engineer Arnold Orville Beckman.
