University of Montreal

The University of Montreal, or UdeM, is a public research university in the Canadian city of Montreal, Québec. In 1878, the University was founded with schools for theology, law, and medicine. The University of Montreal used to be in Quartier Latin, but in 1942, it moved to its current campus on Mount Royal. In 1967, it was made official that it was a nonreligious group.
Mount Royal is in the background of the main campus of the university, which has more than 65 hectares of trees, grass, roads, and walking paths. There are about 40 buildings on the campus. The most noticeable is the Roger Gaudry Pavilion, which can be seen for miles. The 13 departments and colleges at the university offer classes in almost every field of study, from the arts to the hard sciences, from the humanities to medicine. It is home to 27 hospitals and two universities, including the HEC Montréal School of Business and the Polytechnic Montréal School of Engineering. Aside from that, it has over 600 courses for both graduate and undergraduate students.
The school has about 18,195 graduate and undergraduate students. About 73% of the students are first-year or second-year students, and the other 27% are graduate students. There are now more than 67,389 students in college (including two of its schools). Out of the 10,000 students studying abroad, almost 7,000 are citizens or permanent residents.
There are a lot of well-known student groups at the university, where students can talk about things like arts and culture, sports, religion, and social justice. All of the student groups at this university are run by two large student governments. At the moment, more than eighty student groups are part of FAÉCUM (association). Canada has fifteen research universities, and one of them is the University of Montreal, which is called U15. In 2018, the university is ranked third among the top 50 research universities. This is because it has a large network of 465 research centers, institutes, and departments.
Many of the school’s graduates have gone on to build their lives in communities all over Canada and the rest of the world. Its alumni include many high-ranking government officials, well-known academics, and successful businesspeople. Politicians and other well-known people often go back to their school days.
