University of Adelaide
Established in 1874, the University of Adelaide is a public educational establishment of a higher level that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. The school initially only provided a Bachelor of Arts degree for its students. In addition to this, it is the first university in Australia to have a female representative elected to the University Council of the institution. Additionally, the University of Adelaide was a leader in the fight against smoking in the state of South Australia. Security on campus was able to successfully impose a strict no-smoking policy with the help of this plan. The dormitories of the institution have also been transformed into smoke-free zones.
The center of academic and residential life at the university is located on the North Terrace campus, which is the largest of the four campuses that make up the university. It is surrounded by the Art Gallery of South Australia. The entire campus is covered in thick vegetation and resembles a rainforest. Elder Hall, Mitchell Building, Ligertwood Building, and Napier Building are some of the other notable buildings on the campus in addition to the historic and well-known Bonython Hall. The academic programs offered by the university are broken down into five distinct schools: the School of Health and Medical Sciences, the School of Arts, the School of Mathematics, the School of Professions, and the School of Sciences. Within these faculties are schools that provide students with a diverse array of course options, allowing them to personalize their academic experience to reflect their passions and pursuits. On the list, you’ll find the School of Architecture, the School of Music, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Mining Engineering, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and the School of Physical Sciences. The Financial Times placed the University of Adelaide’s postgraduate Business and Economics programs somewhere between 201 and 250 on its list of the world’s best in 2021. Although this position has remained unchanged since 2019, the range of ranks in 2018 was more constrained, with values ranging from 151-175 rather than 1-100. The Times Higher Education (THE) has placed the University of Adelaide’s postgraduate engineering and technology programs as the 100th best in the world for 2021. Some of these graduate programs are highly sought after in the industry of engineering and technology, and they are offered by some of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world. The rankings from 101 to 125 remained the same from 2018 through 2020; the year 2021 was the year they eventually broke into the top 100. In addition, The Economist placed the postgraduate computer science programs offered by the University of Adelaide at position #98 on its global rankings list. This collection of classes has ended in the 98th position for the past three years in a row.

The University of Adelaide has moved up the rankings in the next edition of the U.S. News & World Report, moving from its previous position of #80 to #73. The University of Adelaide has gone up one spot in US News & World Report’s rankings, moving from 2021 to 2020 after previously being ranked 2021. According to the QS – World University Rankings 2021, the University of Adelaide is placed at position number 106. Over the last two years, this position has remained unchanged (2020 and 2021). The representation of two sets of coordinates that are relatively near to one another on the graph indicates that there will be very little discernible change in The University of Adelaide’s position in the QS rankings between the years 2020 and 2021. Despite this, the University of Adelaide still ranks in the top 150 schools in the world in the year 2021.
The Times Higher Education (THE) has moved the University of Adelaide to the 118th spot on its list of the world’s finest universities for 2021. If you take a look at the graph of the ranking, you’ll note that it’s been climbing since 2020, when it slipped two places to its current position. The majority of the ranking criteria are met with flying colors, as is evidenced by The Economist’s above-average total score of 60.4 for The University of Adelaide. The following is an evaluation of the criteria, and the scores that were assigned to each are as follows: The number of citations was 96, the global relevance was 92.3, the practical relevance to the industry was 68.5, and the quality of the study received a score of 42.9.
