Since it first opened in 1876, Johns Hopkins University has said that its goal is to make scholars who are strong, smart, useful, and honest. This place is unique because it takes the best parts of both public and private education and puts them together. The name of the university comes from Johns Hopkins, a Quaker businessman from Maryland in the 1800s who worked to improve public health and education in Baltimore and around the world. In 2022, US News & World Report ranked Johns Hopkins University, which is in Baltimore, Maryland, as the ninth best school in the world. The university is #25 on the QS World University Rankings for 2022. The Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2022 rank Johns Hopkins University as the thirteenth best university in the world.

There is the main campus in Baltimore, and the other nine departments are spread out across three continents. Johns Hopkins University has four different campuses in the city of Baltimore. On the Homewood campus, you can find the School of Arts and Sciences, the School of Engineering, and the School of Education. On the university’s East Baltimore campus are the Johns Hopkins Medical, Nursing, and Public Health Schools, as well as the well-known Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Peabody Institute is the oldest conservatory in the United States. It is located on the historic Peabody campus. The Harbor East campus of the Carey Business School is on the water. Undergraduates from other countries who need money to go to Hopkins can apply for scholarships. On average, awards range from $5,000 to $25,000, but they are changed based on the needs of each student.

Students at Hopkins have to live in housing on campus. Almost all Homewood campus residents live in on-campus dorms for their first two years as undergraduates. At Johns Hopkins University, there are both standard dorm rooms and suites with more space and comfort. All four campuses in Baltimore are close to many apartments and houses that can be rented.
