Georgian College

Georgian College was founded in 1967, the same year that the College System of Ontario was set up. Twelve of the organization’s co-operative education programs have been approved by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education (CAFCE). Three of the organization’s health programs were given the highest level of accreditation possible. The Public Health Agency of canada has approved both the Veterinary Assistant and Veterinary Technician programs in canada. The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) gave the college the CCAC Certification of Good Animal Practice as a sign that the school cares about animal welfare (GAP).

The seven campuses that make up Georgian College are spread out over 21,000 square kilometers in the province of Ontario. The largest of the university’s campuses is the Barrie Campus. It is home to an Art Gallery, a Changemaker Space, a fitness center with a climbing wall and a gym, the Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre, the Indigenous Resource Centre, innovation labs, the library, on-campus residences, nursing simulation labs, six public health and wellness clinics, student lounges, theaters, and video conferencing.

The Robbert Hartog Midland Campus is known for its excellent apprenticeship and skills training programs. These programs give local businesses access to important and well-trained workers. The Muskoka Campus offers the Pre-health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees. The Orangeville Campus offers full-time and part-time study options, as well as academic upgrading and training for businesses. The Orillia Campus has many ways to learn, as well as a meditation labyrinth, a library, and a veterinary clinic.

The Marine Emergency Duties Centre and the Centre for Marine Training and Research are two of the best-known buildings on the Owen Sound Campus. The South Georgian Bay Campus has a variety of academic programs. It has a 20,000-square-foot classroom area, a community room, computer labs, and a nursing simulation lab. Each campus has facilities that are up-to-date and an environment that helps students learn quickly and well.

Georgian College has more than 130 industry-focused academic programs. Some of these programs are automotive business, management, computer studies, community safety, design, visual arts, health, engineering, environmental technologies, sciences, hospitality, tourism, liberal arts, human services, indigenous studies, skilled trades, and marine studies. Georgian College is a full-service school that helps students in a wide range of fields.

The school has about 13,000 students in total, and 3,600 of them are international students from 85 different countries around the world. This school has an average of 26 students in each class, and it gives out $3 million each year in the form of scholarships and bursaries. It has a high graduate employment rate, with 89.7% of graduates getting jobs within six months of graduating in the 2018-19 academic year. This shows that it gives its students a high level of service.

More than 80,000 Georgian College graduates live all over the world, and many of them have made a name for themselves in their chosen fields. Ali Khonsari works as the vice president at Image Dental Laboratory. Quench Buggy’s current owner, Darryl Hindle, came up with the idea and started the business. Eve Northmore helped to start the Women’s Snowboard Federation. Don Komarechka is a well-known and skilled photographer who has been on an episode of David Suzuki’s show “The Nature of Things.” Tara Andrews runs Beyond Buoyancy Aquatics and also owns the business. Nicole Saulnier owns the airline that flies out of Georgian Bay. Jon Montgomery won an Olympic gold medal and now has his own TV show. In its long history, Georgian College has also given degrees to a lot of famous people.

The Georgian College was started at a time when the college system in Ontario was just getting started. This school is called the “Changemaker College of canada” because of the important contributions it has made not only to higher education but also to social innovation. The college lives up to its name by giving students many chances to take part in a wide range of projects, challenges, business launches, and volunteer or paid work with non-profit organizations so they can gain experience and be a part of the movement toward positive social change.

Georgian College is home to more than 3,600 students from over 85 different countries. Students are working toward diplomas, degrees, and certificates in one of thirteen subject areas at the college’s seven different sites. In addition to keeping an employment rate of 87 percent, Georgian College tries to give its students a calm and friendly environment. The percentage of satisfied graduates at Georgian College is 81.6%, which is much higher than the number of satisfied graduates at all other schools in Ontario, which is only 80.1%. On seven different occasions, it has been named one of the top 100 employers in canada. It also has an English Language program that goes from level 1 all the way up to level 8 and runs in seven-week modules on its main campus.

Even though the college has 780 exchange programs with more than 59 different schools and offers multiple two- and three-year diplomas, one-year post-graduate certificates, degrees, and combined degree-diploma programs with Lakehead University, it is best known for its programs in Aviation and Automotive Business Management, Engineering, Hospitality, Health and Wellness, Information Technology, Design and Visual Arts.
