George Brown College

George Brown was both a newspaper owner and a politician. In 1967, the building that would become George Brown College was named after him. This school is also known as the George Brown College of Applied Arts and Technology. Sally Horsfall Eaton was the first person to serve as the university’s chancellor. It is well known that this college was the first to start a system for teaching students from a distance. At the moment, more than 15,000 people from many different countries are taking part in its distance education programs.

Canada‘s George Brown College has three different campuses: the Casa Loma Campus, the St. James Campus, and the Waterfront Campus. In Mario Pascucci’s Applied Business Planning class, a group of students majoring in Business Administration made and released a business simulation game called the Business Strategy Game (BSG). Because of this, students at George Brown University are among the top 100 business strategy simulation competitors in the world.

In addition to this, George Brown University is working with six other postsecondary schools to give its most recent graduates new opportunities for paid work-integrated learning. Drive Ability—Opening Doors is a program that students in business, technology, and engineering programs can take part in. The goal of this program is to help students get paid internships in advanced manufacturing and automotive manufacturing. The provincial government of canada is paying for this project, which will lead to the creation of about 600 jobs.
