Do you want to work in healthcare but have a bachelor’s degree in something other than nursing? Does this sound like you? Our Second Degree Accelerated BSN Program can be finished in as little as 20 months, whether you choose to study during the day or study online/hybrid.

Those who want to join our program can take one of two different routes. Our daytime and flexible hybrid programs both take 20 months to finish, which is five semesters. We have strong connections with health care facilities in the area, which lets us put students right to work in clinical settings during their first semester. This means that as soon as you get to campus, you’ll have the chance to work with patients and learn valuable skills. Students will do their clinical rotations at all of the major hospitals in the Columbus area.

Capital University’s nursing program is very good, and it helps people learn how to become nursing administrators in the future. We are happy with how many self-confident professionals with an interest in the whole have come out of our program. Our program gives you the best possible head start by giving you three courses at the master’s level. You can get graduate credit for these courses while you are still in a BSN program. They are the backbone of our MSN program.

More people want to get into accelerated nursing programs, which has made it harder to get in. If you want to make a good impression on admissions officers, you should have most of your science prerequisites under your belt before you apply. We want students with a 3.0 GPA overall and at least a C+ (2.75 GPA) in microbiology, anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. We look at academic performance, but we’re more interested in finding someone who really wants to be a nurse and understands the curriculum well.

Every August, a new group of students starts school, and by May of the next year, they will have finished five semesters. Students should have their application and all other forms in by March 15 to be eligible for fall admission. A given year’s cohort could have anywhere from 25 to 50 students.

Monday through Friday, classes, labs, and clinicals will take place during the day (four days a week, usually). Each semester will have an extra 12–15 credit hours because of the clinical experiences, which start in the first semester.

Students will do their clinical rotations at all of the major hospitals in the Columbus area.

Our flexible hybrid option will be offered every year beginning in the fall of 2021. It will take 5 semesters to finish. Students should have their application and all other forms in by March 15 to be eligible for fall admission. If there’s enough room, there could be as many as 32 students in this group.

Some classes will be online, and others will be in person. This is called a “hybrid model” for teaching. Students can expect to be on campus from 4 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday.

On Thursdays and Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can go to a clinical (terms 4 and 5 may require weekday clinicals). Students will do their clinical rotations at all of the major hospitals in the Columbus area. At the start of the course, each student will choose the day of the week they want to do their clinical.

If a student chooses to do this, they will be able to keep working full time and still finish their degree at a normal rate. During the program, it’s important for students to be able to change their schedules as needed, since they may have other things to do during the week.

Capital University’s accelerated BSN program can be done in two different lengths of time. Starting in 2021, both programs will start in the fall. Our flexible hybrid program combines online learning that you can do at your own pace with classroom and clinical learning that you do in person. Every week, students will spend one evening on campus (usually Wednesdays from 4 to 9 p.m.) and one full day (usually Thursday or Saturday) in one of our local clinical sites, getting hands-on experience in their chosen field. There are 5 semesters in this program as a whole (20 Months). If a student chooses the Regular Option, he or she will usually spend four days a week in the classroom and doing clinical rotations. Monday through Friday is often the time for ongoing activities on campus or in a clinical setting. Each semester has its own set of dates and times. It’s likewise a 5-semester program (20 Months)

Capital is linked to more than 80 local health care systems, including a number of Magnet® hospitals. Our students get clinical experiences at OhioHealth (Riverside, Grant, Dublin, etc.), The Ohio State University (The James, OSU East, Wexner Medical Center, Nationwide Children’s, Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s), and many other local hospitals and clinics. By rotating between different hospitals, students get the benefit of not being tied to just one. Because of this, it’s easier for kids to focus on a possible career path after high school.

Nursing is a practical field that can’t be learned from a book. It requires training and experience that can’t be found in a book. In your first semester, you’ll start doing things in the real world. In a clinical setting, you will use everything you learn in the classroom. This will help you learn more about other cultures and improve your technical skills. This will make you more marketable in today’s competitive job market.

Every school will try to convince you that it is the best choice. You and we both know that there is no such thing as a “perfect” college.
